Storage & Handling

Q: How should I store lyophilized (freeze-dried) peptides?
A: Lyophilized peptides should be stored at -20°C or lower in a dry environment, protected from light and moisture. Keep vials tightly sealed when not in use.

Q: How should I store reconstituted peptides?
A: Once reconstituted, peptides should be stored at 2-8°C (refrigerated) and used within the timeframe specified for each peptide, typically 2-4 weeks. Some peptides may be aliquoted and frozen at -20°C for longer storage.

Q: What is the shelf life of your peptides?
A: When stored properly, lyophilized peptides typically have a shelf life of 2-3 years from the manufacturing date. Reconstituted peptides should be used within 2-4 weeks when refrigerated.

Q: Can I freeze reconstituted peptides?
A: Some peptides can be frozen after reconstitution, but repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided as they can degrade peptides. We recommend aliquoting into single-use portions before freezing.

Reconstitution

Q: What should I use to reconstitute peptides?
A: Most peptides can be reconstituted with bacteriostatic water, sterile water, or appropriate buffer solutions. 

Q: How do I reconstitute lyophilized peptides?
A: Allow the vial to reach room temperature, then add the appropriate solvent slowly along the vial wall. Gently swirl (do not shake vigorously) until the powder is completely dissolved. Never shake peptides as this can damage their structure.

Q: What concentration should I reconstitute to?
A: Reconstitution concentration depends on your research protocol. Common concentrations range from 1-10mg/ml. Calculate based on the peptide amount in your vial and your desired final concentration.
